Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV

The Mitsubishi Outlander is the first weapon winback French (the second being the Mirage.) Mitsubishi now wants to focus on clean cars: each model will have its declination hybrid or pure electric. The Mitsubishi Outlander opens again the ball with this version Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicle (PHEV).

The architecture of the Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV is quite particular. It was designed in parallel with the Mitsubishi Outlander ”normal” and therefore, there is no change in the floor or changing the volume of the box. It still weighs 1 810kg (495kg for 1 against the normal  version.)

Specifically, the PHEV has a 150hp 2.0-liter petrol. It causes the front wheels. It is coupled to two electric motors (one per axle) of 60kW (81hp). Of lithium-ion batteries allow it to run 55km or 120km / h in pure electric mode. It is possible to connect it to recharge in 4 hours.

It is capable of pure electric driving in pure thermal energy or both in parallel. It is for the whole planet, hence the lack of diesel (only Europe appreciates the diesel).

Attractive offer on paper. We are dealing with an SUV actually able to move in electric mode. Remains to be discovered on the road and for that, it will have to wait until next spring.

The Mitsubishi Outlander next step will be a hybrid Pajero.
