The Mitsubishi Outlander 2012Â is among us since the beginning of the Japanese brand in our northern land, in 2003. Then, in 2008, landed the current generation, derived from the popular Lancer sedan. The wildest hopes were then allowed and perfectly legitimate. Especially since last year, Mitsubishi gave weapons to the most exclusive version of its compact SUV by grafting sophisticated all-wheel drive.
However, we are entitled to ask where does Mitsubishi America. Admittedly, the i-MiEV electric city this, gets all the attention, but the range of the three diamonds manufacturer is fading more and more. Last year, the Galant sedan drew his bow quietly and this year, the Eclipse coupe and convertible and the Endeavor midsize SUV “to overshadow” in turn. Remains the Lancer, fortunately offered in several configurations, Mitsubishi Outlander 2012Â and RVR, another compact SUV.
Good … and DIYÂ Mitsubishi Outlander 2012
The front seats are moderately comfortable, but those of the second row are as hard as the heart of a U.S. Customs. As for the third row, only available with the V6 models, it is more of a blind child and DIY penguin that bench. And in addition, it eliminates the handy storage bin that fits under the floor of the five-seat models. Note that the tailgate opens in two parts, like Land Rover. The lower part and the top flap opens like a hatchback standard. It is convenient and efficient and emits no cracking suspect, even in winter.
Mechanical side, Mitsubishi uses a 2.4-liter four-cylinder. This engine is not the most smart and twenty or thirty extra horses would not be refused. Especially it has a masted CVT transmission type, one of the major flaws is to briskly climb the towers / minute. So we feel, acceleration frank, the engine trouble, even if this is not the case. Mitsubishi Outlander 2012Â has two owners of this engine have told me to be perfectly satisfied with their horse. That’s what counts, right?
AWD successful Mitsubishi Outlander 2012
In addition to the basic version of which is driven by the front wheels only, all others have a AWD … which varies livery! For the XLS, which sits on top of the range, has the right to AWD S-AWC (Super All Wheel Control), derived from the Lancer Evolution, but … less evolved. This train has an active front differential, which means that the torque is transferred to the front wheel with the most traction. Of course, the transfer is also front to back. The driver can also choose between different types of soils (tarmac and snow) to further improve adhesion. Finally, the method “Lock” can send 50% of the torque to the rear and both front wheels where each receives the same percentage. However, this train does not do hardcore 4×4. But it helps to make the cottage even on bumpy roads pretty. And before I forget, note that it is possible to ride, most of the time, traction mode, which saves gallons of gasoline.
The Mitsubishi Outlander 2012Â is more love on the road in a showroom. Its chassis is solid and independent suspension therein stow enjoy a good compromise between comfort and roadholding. I would even say that the XLS is sporty! Oh, this is not a Porsche Cayenne, but the Mitsubishi is very fun to drive quickly. Some might find the suspension a little too dry, but they have never bothered me. The steering is precise and support is just perfect … in the XLS. This is somewhat less pronounced in the other versions.
The second generation Mitsubishi Outlander 2012Â is here for five years now. In 2010, it was the version with the most opulent of more advanced technologies, but it would mark the Diamond revitalizes the three variants also less expensive.
